Aftab Poonawala, accused in the country’s famous Shraddha murder case, had filed a bail application in the Saket court yesterday, on which the hearing has been postponed. The matter will now be heard on December 22. The accused filed a bail application in court number 303.

Earlier, on Thursday, the South District Police got a big success in the country’s famous Shraddha murder case. The pieces of the dead body recovered from Mehrauli forest belong to Shraddha. This has been revealed from the DNA report received by the Delhi Police on Wednesday evening. The DNA of the pieces of the dead body found in the forest has matched with Shraddha’s father Vikas Walkar.

Police has also received the report of polygraphy test of accused Aftab Amin Poonawalla (28). Delhi Police is now waiting for the narco test report of the accused. The police will now conduct a post-mortem examination of the pieces of Shraddha’s body.

Delhi Police’s Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order, Zone-II) Dr. Sagarpreet Hooda said on Thursday that in the Shraddha murder case, the Delhi Police has received the CFSL report related to DNA and the polygraphy test of the accused. These reports will prove to be very helpful in the investigation of Delhi Police. However, Delhi Police is waiting for two other reports in this case.

Of these, the report of the narco test is most important. He told that soon the Delhi Police will send those bones of Shraddha for postmortem, which have a match with her father. Hooda told that the pieces of Shraddha’s body will be postmortem in AIIMS. For the investigation related to DNA test, Delhi Police had taken the help of Forensic Testing Lab of CBI located at Lodi Colony.

South district police officials say that the blood stains found from the kitchen, bathroom and bedroom of Aftab’s Chhatarpur flat have matched with Shraddha’s DNA. At the instance of Aftab, some clothes of Shraddha were found in the forest. They will be sent for forensic examination. Delhi Police is yet to recover Shraddha’s mobile phone and SIM. Amar Ujala had revealed on November 28 that the DNA of the pieces of Shraddha’s body matched with that of her father.

Shraddha murder case: Approval of proposal for appointment of special public prosecutors
Delhi Lieutenant Governor Vinay Kumar Saxena has approved the proposal sent by the Delhi Police regarding the appointment of Special Public Prosecutors to represent the government in the trial court in the Shraddha murder case. Advocates Madhukar Pandey and Amit Prasad will represent the Delhi Police as Special Public Prosecutors in the Shraddha murder case.
